Europe Biobank Week 2026 was held in Prague, from 19th to 22th of May and brought together experts in biobanking, translational medicine, and biomedical research from across the Europe. The conference program included numerous sessions on biological material quality, data integration, multiomics, ethics, and modern technologies supporting the development of biobanks.
Representatives of Biobank - LBBK WUM actively participated in the event, presenting the results of their research.
As part of the thematic session 8C: "Mastering pre-analytics: Key to reliable biobanking and biomedical research," devoted to the importance of pre-analytical processes for the quality of biomedical research and the reliability of biological material, Mrs. Agnieszka Mroczko, a Biobank - LBBK WUM employee, presented her poster entitled "Culture medium as a key determinant of ADSC quality in biobanking and biomedical research." The session focused on, among other things, optimizing biological sample storage and preparation procedures and the impact of preanalytical factors on the quality of research data.
In addition, Mr. Stefan Rudziński, Biobank Quality Manager at LBBK WUM, delivered an oral presentation during session 11C: "Samples ready for multi-omics research," which focused on sample preparation for multi-omics studies. The presentation, titled "Multi-omics analyses of osteogenically induced adipose-derived stem cells as a tool for biomedical research" addressed the application of multi-omics analyses in biomedical research using stem cells. The session focused on the challenges associated with preparing high-quality biological material for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics studies.
Participation in Europe Biobank Week 2026 provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, establish new international collaborations and promote the activities of Biobank - LBBK WUM on a European forum.
